Laurel School
Shaker Heights, Ohio
Project Description
Laurel School, founded in 1896, is a nationally recognized, college preparatory, independent K-12 school for girls. The main campus, located in Shaker Heights, OH, is comprised of a mix of modern and historic buildings and facilities systems. Parke Brothers Construction was responsible for managing multiple simultaneous jobsites on campus in a compressed timeframe while maintaining safe access for students and faculty. The dynamics of this type of project provided PBC an opportunity to showcase our excellence on special/sensitive projects that our clients have come to expect.
This project consisted of the modernization and renovation of 4 classrooms, 3 faculty offices, and a locker room as well as the installation of new wooden student lockers and custom glass marker boards in several classrooms. One of the classrooms has been designed and built as a model which will serve as the template for future updates. Scope included demolition, metal stud framing, drywall, plaster, ceilings, lighting/controls, A/V technologies, custom millwork, and specialty finishes.
